If he's bottom of the judges leader board he only needs to be about fourth or fifth with the views to give him enough points to rise above them. The only way they could really protest would be to give everyone else 40 pts and him less so that they ALL got 8pts to start off with and he only got his 1pt. That way it would be impossible for him to be anywhere but in the dance off - then they could vote him off after that.
