Thought you enjoy this Margaret .. yes, from daughter's blog (just funny):-
Oh dear
I spend a lot of my time educating people about low fat diets in view of the increase in CHD and related chronic disease processes.
Getting them to lower fat intake (Yes, I know about other factors...this is about diet though) will lower cholesterol
I had a man in yesterday who proudly tells me he buys benecol now instead of butter.
'That's great' I say as I note the exchange in food choice.
(Yay! My messages are getting through)
..... pause.....
'Its expensive Susie but this is important and I am managing eat over a pack a week' he announces obviously proud of this.
cough! splutter!
'Ugh?' I respond articulately.
Quickly followed by a vocabulary recovery, 'Er... hmmm... eh?...awhat?'
Earnestly he responds, eager to relate his triumph, 'It says on the pack that it helps lower cholesterol like so I'm eating as much of it as I can'
My gob hangs open attractively as I gawp at him in astonishment ...........
Then I start to search my 'massive' word pool again to find a way to explain..................
