I work in the city centre in Manchester, (in a bar) and we, and all the other bars/clubs use plastic, not just because of safety etc, but its so much easier to clean, and even operate the business. The pubs/clubs are way too busy to be serving glass, which have to be cleaned etc. The whole venue serves around 100 people every ten/twenty minutes, it would be impossible to use glass, we would simply run out.
Then you get the odd ball who thinks their a cut above the rest, demanding a glass. Ha.
