The old market was freezing, spent many a winter day desperately trying to keep my feet warm. It was not a very nice structure and whilst I was initially disappointed when I heard they were tearing it down when I look now with the wisdom of years I think it was a good move.

Regardless of the move, the Market started to be badly mis-managed in the early 90's, where they abandoned a lot of the close management they did to ensure balance of trade on there. This forced a lot of the older market traders out and the opportunists that had been allowed in generally didn't go the distance (Toy stalls that appear in the last week of November and disappear at Christmas anyone)?
