We are in the 21st century now, its a shame that the head teachers expect us to sit and listen to the wireless waiting for the announcements. We want to quickly check on our PC's so we can spend time trying to arrange childcare after being let down by the schools again.

There have been other examples ie text of how parents have been informed that schools are closed.
I think the argument why schools have been closed has been well covered on this thread ie it's not just about pupils locallity to the school but also how many staff can access school which clearly may differ from neighbouring schools simply because some staff may live in places more affected by snow
I had the "wireless" on from 7am and clearly many schools had made prompt arrangements if the snow arrived.
I appreciate it's difficult for parents when schools close fortunately mine are now old enogh to look after themselves but to say your letdown again makes it sound like it happens every week
