It's clear to everyone who isn't a wannabe Fox Mulder that the club is only doing what is necessary to a) stay in the black and b) stay in the football league. Eric would never
want the ground to be all-seating - I mean come on, we all know he is one of the old guard when it comes to... everything - but if the team become that succesful then it may be necessary. For instance, take the sponsorship of the ground's name. No one at the club would've wanted to change the name of The Crown Ground, but the moneys taken from the deal are essential to the club's day-to-day running.
No one from the club is "selling the fans down the river", as you insultingly put it a while back. There's no alternative to compliance with Football League rules as long as we are fortunate enough to have a team that can keep us there.
