Old Musicals

I've got quite a lot of film musicals on DVD. Most of them seem to be dated around the 1950s, which was the hay-day for this genre, and I absolutely love them.

Anyway, it was a dull, damp afternoon so, having nothing better to do, I watched one. "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", made in 1954, starred Howard Keel (I fell in love with him, this afternoon, for about the 40th time ), had some brilliant songs (it won the Oscar for the score) and fantastic dancing. It was a treat to watch.

I have many more from that era, and later, so I'm set up for the rest of the 'orrible weather and, of course, I've got my Glenn Miller movies (starring Miller and the band) and the Jimmy Stewart film, "The Glenn Miller Story". It can stay damp and miserable 'til March if it wants.
