Oswaldtwistle War Memorial.

What criteria has been applied for qualification to be on the Town Memorial.

I have a list which I use for my files. ---------------------Yes No

Born in Oswaldtwistle lived elsewhere from an early age -------------

Born elsewhere lived in Oswaldtwistle. -------------

Born elsewhere worked in Oswaldtwistle in lodgings -------------

Born elsewhere married an Ossy girl Kia she come home -------------

Never lived in Ossy but relatives do -------------

Emigrated before war K.i.a wife comes home -------------

Emigrated before war K.i.a wife does not come home -------------

Emigrated before war D.o.w buried in England -------------

I know of one memorial where there are 3 names of men with no connection with the town. There only connection is their granmother lived in the town, they stayed with her on school holidays and at Christmas.
Who going to say to her, you can't have their names on the memorial.

If all the above apply then there are 156 names missing from the list of Oswaldtwistle men compiled in 1922
