I agree. I've said umpteen times already that legitamate allowances are there so people can carry out whatever work they're doing, in the private or public sector, so that no one person should be out of pocket.
If people chose not to use their allowance they are free to do so. Just as conversley people have every right to claim them, both legally and morally.
No problem.
My beef is the continuing rises of allowances, above and beyond independently recomended limits.
My advice to whoever thought this was a good idea, given the severe global financial crisis, is don't ever apply for a job in P.R., should you ever be seeking new employment.
