That is how threads go...they do become 'personal' because we all have had personal experiences...and it is as a result of this that we can contribute to the thread.

I am grateful......I'm grateful to the people at the Christie for saving my mothers life.
I recognise that without the many improvements in cancer care, she wouldn't be here.......but I also know that she is made miserable by the fact that she has to take medications which make her quality of life poorer.
Is it preferable to have a longer life, but one of poorer quality?
I think we all have to make our choices on this one....my answer would be No.

Your efforts to get funding and to evaluate care and correlate research material are to be applauded......I would never try to make light of those efforts......but I am careful where I place my gratitude
