If it recognised the ipod as a hard disk then the USB drivers will be working.
I assume iTunes is installed? ( Be careful if you have music on the ipod you don't have in iTunes or it will wipe them off!!!!!!!!!)
it sounds like its just seeing it as a USB device rather than an iPod, Its so long since I used an iPOd under Windows I can't recall if there are actual 'drivers' for them(Linux just 'works
). If there are try re-installing them
