While there may be an element of 'talking down' the economy....I don't really think it is just that that is to blame....after all it is a global situation, not just confined to this countrys economy........and while the bankers(have I got the right word there?) in this country have bordered on negligent, a lot of the debt originated in the USA.
People have just realised that it is mad to spend money that you don't actually have(the government could learn a thing or two here), and that companies that you would have thought were rock solid are foundering.......and
that's what is causing the lack of financial confidence.
