Was indeed a great pub way back then but my goodness what a dive it turned into as a night club
Was in the Peel Park with Ian many years ago and didn't think we were going to get any "after time" so he had the bright idea of going down "Africas" or whatever it was called. Cost us a few bob what with taxis and entrance fee and I wouldn't stop, just got the one drink and went home. Turns out we could have stayed where we were as they just wanted to get shut of a few "strangers". As you can imagine someone was not best pleased
