hi jaysee,
On a Friday night when in my late teens (18 onwards), i was allowed to go out with my Dad and we would do a pub crawl - evry fourth week or so we would catch the bus to the top of Oswaldtwistle - St Emmanuels Church. we would start at the pub there and then work our way back down Union St and finish up at the Tanpit's Club, having a half in every pub on the way - bad head on Saturday mornings.
I was in Qswaldtwistle just under 2 years ago, a family christening at St Emmanuels, and then the Con(?) Club and finished up at the pub at the top of Union St - Black Dog(?), had to go there as United were on TV and stayed there until closing time - TG they ran out of Lancaster Bomber.
The following day had to drive to Blackpool to drop my grandchildren off and then down to Portsmouth where I was working on a contract.
