Do you mean the three books
Albert 'Arold and Others.
Normans and Saxons and Such.
Albert and Balbus and Samuel Small.
They were writen by Walter Marriot Edgar, 48 in all.
Stanley Holloway and Mabel Constanduros used to recite them.
They did at one time wite some of their own, but their not a patch on Edgar's works.

My kids loved them stories at bedtime. Their favourites was Albert an't Lion, and the return of Albert.
Even after 60 odd years I still remember them
