Look on nettles for ladybirds. My biomedical science friend tells me there is some chemical of sorts in nettles that ladybirds are attracted to in some way (I wasn't really listening).
Plenty of wasps in Lancaster and my mum found a ladybird at home the other week.
I barely see them like I used to though. I once found hundreds once when I climbed over a wall in Springhill area, but they've built a housing estate on that bit of land since.
