Just had a knock at the door, and a rather attractive young man was on our avenue offering a service of bin cleaning. They come around every 4 weeks and completely cleanse the bin and leave it nicely smelling, with a choice of smells (take note MargaretR..
). Only £2.50.
Haven't joined up yet, but have taken his card and am thinking about it, even though I wrap up all food left-overs, put them in another bag, and then everything goes in a black bin bag before disposing in the domestic bin.
Does get a bit smelly. Mmmm .. very enterprising ... will think about it.
