I think it's all getting a bit silly now.

We had a leaving do at Mytton Fold when we left school in 1994, we just wore our best clothes and our parents took us and collected us in the car.
It's all getting out of hand with these limousines and beauty packages........hair, nails, spray tan etc which are bing done for proms these days.
It's bad enough all this for leaving secondary school but to be doing all this for leaving primary school is ridiculous, in my opinion.

Graduation used to mean leaving university and a big fuss was made. That was fine, now we have proms for leaving primary, even 4 year olds 'graduating' from nursery!

What next? A certificate and mortar board from the Royal Blackburn maternity ward for 'graduating' from the womb?

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs, cackling and telling me
'You'll be next.' They stopped when I started doing the same to them at funerals.
