I wouldn't call my self a card carrying fan of Michael Jackson but his music always seemed to be around at important times of ones life - so he sticks in your memory. I don't think anyone could sing pop/soul as good as him as a kid hearing those records now, especially on his own.

Saw him in concert once in 1988 and he was fantastic but after, "Bad" didn't really listen intently to much of his stuff except for the singles on the radio...

"It really doesn't matter if your black or your white?"

Comparing him to the other King of Rock I think Michael Jacksons' music will last longer than Elvis Presley's because the latters seems more dated.
