But then what was the point of going to war against the Taliban in the first place? the reason for going into Aftganistan was to destroy the terrorist threat from the Taliban, who made no bones of the fact they were out to attack the "west" , in anyway possible. As Spuggie said earlier the ony talking the Taliban will do is to restore their control of Aftganistan....leaving the door open to take control of Pakistan, a nation with advanced nuclear weapons.....I don't like the idea of a perverse Islamic regime, with no fear of being wiped out themselves, having the power to destroy the world.
