Don't remember a cloggers Alan but it has been many years. That shop on the corner of whalley road and dill hall was many things. the last time i was there it was a dress shop(some 30 plus years ago). I remember little Doreen and her mum and brother Malcom having the shop on Whalley road. Then Anni Hill and her sons took over.
Down by the traffic lights there was a butchers, Simpsoms? Had a daughter Kathleen i seem to remember. Also remember Maurice Kenyon a handicapped lad lived on whalley road. Wonder what happened to him. Had a few days break staying with a friend in Accrington last week. First time in years. Was surprised and dismayed how the town has changed.
