Got to agree with you there, SJ. Mad Gord and his lot have played a blinder on this one. They quite correctly assumed that pompous little Alex Salmond just couldn't resist a bit of grandstanding on behalf of the SNP (look at us...we defied the greatest superpower in the world!). And of course, the "useful idiot" role was played to perfection by a blustering, arrogant imbecile like MacAskill who appears incapable of speaking in any other idiom than cliched soundbites.
So, as you say Gord can just wash his hands of it all, and he still gets to stay buddies with his new best friend, the Colonel and BP still get their hands on all that lovely oil!
