I'm not trying to wash my hands of the labour Party nationally, quite the contrary. I'm Labour and proud of it.

Just on the next election, I wouldn't start counting any chickens just yet. I've been around in politics along time time, and I've seen quite a few politicians with egg on their face when it comes to predicting the outcome of elections. Including myself from time to time.
