If Jesus Christ returned to Earth, him being the person whose birth the whole festival is supposed to be about, he would probably ask what 'baubles, snowmen, tinsel and santas' had to do with him in the first place, regardless of the month.
Explaining about Germanic Prince Albert popularising most Christmas traditions, probably wouldn't wash with Jesus.
As I said, I don't particularly like it, but targeting charity shops and their volunteers, and costing those charities money, and not being brave enough to put their names and faces to their 'campaign', is sadly pathetic.
