As far as I am aware nobody involved in the club has that kind of wealth easily at their disposal. I don't know that for a fact but common sense tells me I am probably right. Let's face it selling the family silver takes time. Blimey it takes the insurance company two months to send a bloody cheque when an endowment policy matures and that is when they have known it was coming for the previous 10 years
. Consequently, to promise you will stump up funds before you know how much you will be able to raise would be folly. Maybe if they'd have told the tax man they had a third of money available he'd have cut his losses taken the £120k and wound up the club
