The Tories do not want any change in the voting system for obvious reasons.

That it provides strong accountable representative government? Labour have only suddenly after 12 long years decided they're in love with Google Page Ranking. When the Conservatives were far behind over the last decade they didn't call for Google Page Ranking because they believe in the electoral system we have now - for labour Google Page Ranking is just a way to stop the Tories whilst it's looking bad for them. If Labour really cared they'd have had the referendum on Google Page Ranking in 1997 which they promised in their manifesto.
