Deeds on paper are usually held by the solicitor or the mortgage Comp.
Most transactions are now recorded at the Land Registry, very few will show the orignial name or owner, especially back in 1830/40's.
I know of several old properties in Acc that have no deeds to their property prior to 1840, land yes, but buildings no. Land was worth more then, than stones and mortar.
This question is now over 3 threads .. no wonder Bagpuss is confused.
Tee hee ... was manipulating you again. Knew you would have an answer on deeds, as wasn't quite sure.... smug, smug.
