When I looked after Melbourne House I was responsible for all the annual budgets except salaries.
Monitoring fuel consumption was part of that, and making savings meant that I could spend some on nice things like house plant displays.

I got into the habit of reading my meters, at home too, weekly, (but that lapsed to monthly, and now only quarterly, because i got lazy)

Whenever I buy an electrical appliance I consider its energy rating as a factor in deciding.
I don't think that having one of these meters will benefit me because I know I make all the savings I reasonably can.
(I even have a solar powered/wind up bedside radio)
It plugs in - so will only increase fuel consumption - where's the sense in that
