The first program in the series involved schoolchildren building plastic air-fix kits of a Supermarine Spitfire. James then investigated the possibility of building a full sized model using the same technique which was eventually achieved by ingenuity and a few design tweaks. The finished model now forms part of the display in the museum at RAF Cosford in Shropshire.
