Accrington Stanley seek correction on figures

Accrington Stanley have made an official request to the Home Office to correct figures released yesterday showing statistics on arrests and banning orders at football matches.

The statistics show that of the 3,180 banning orders in place on football supporters, one is related to an Accrington Stanley fan, however this is incorrect and Safety Officer Mick Schultz has this morning been seeking to have this corrected "It may only be one, but it is one that shouldn't be on the record, the incident relates to an away fan in the away end of our ground but it has been incorrectly attributed to our club."

When the figures are corrected they will show only two clubs in the top four tiers of English football with no supporters with a banning order against them, just ourselves and Torquay have this honour.

Mick continued "We are very proud of the fact that Accrington Stanley is amongst the safest places in the country to watch a game of football. We are very keen to attract young people and families to our club and providing a safe and friendly environment for them to come to is of course key to this."

Good to see the folks at Stanley are on the case and a big well done to Mick Schultz for chasing this one up, also I suspect Mr. T had a little bit to do with it!
