It's
proper recycling - part of "reduce, reuse, recycle"
I'm not surprised they let you take something that would just end up in landfill, though. Where you leave the Great Harwood recycling centre, there's a tally of the percentage recycled last month.
If you take away something that's bound for landfill, it helps that percentage. If you take away a telly, or anything else that can be recycled, it hinders the percentage.
I've got a telly available - still works, good quality. Has surround sound and a nice VCR. It's too big for a bedroom though - 27", and its nearly that fat too because it's an old CRT.
