More good press, when will it end!!!!
BBC Late Kick Off.
Thursday 4th Feb 2010.
Roadshow comes to Accrington.
The BBC’s Late Kick Off show will be coming to Accrington Stanley this Saturday, giving fans the chance to have a go at being a virtual TV presenter.
The BBC’s interactive TV experience, which will be in the Buy-the-House Lounge at the club from 12pm, will allow fans to ‘present’ a one minute clip of the show, reading from a script, while their image is projected onto a TV screen. The programme will also be filming there that day so those taking part could find themselves on television for real.
Late Kick Off, presented by Tony Livesey on BBC One on Monday nights, gives fans across the North West unparalleled access to their teams. It features in depth coverage behind-the-scenes, the teams, players, managers and the backroom stories from 11 teams across the region from Stockport County to Accrington Stanley and Macclesfield Town to Tranmere Rovers. The show gets right to the heart of local football with a mix of discussion, opinion, interviews and match analysis.
Accrington Stanley Chief Executive, Robert Heys, said "It’s brilliant that the BBC is coming to Accrington Stanley. The programme is great news for league football and the BBC being here will give everyone a chance to see more of how the show works and to step into Tony Livesey’s shoes – even if it is just for a minute."
Late Kick Off complements coverage of the Football League which returned to the BBC in August last year for the first time since 1988 building on the success of the network highlights programme, The Football League Show, along with live coverage of two Carling Cup semi finals and the League final. Along with action from the Premier League on Match Of The Day and BBC Radio 5 Live, the BBC provides sports fans with access to all the goals and all the action, the length and breadth of the country.
