That's the sort of sad regret I count myself blessed not to have had. There's no choice there, and you sadly can't change somethings.

If your mum was anything like the good mum you are to your son, she'll have known you loved her, and was just going through the stroppy phase we all have to grow through, and would have understood completely, that she was loved by you with all your heart.

I remember overhearing a similar tale when I was a kid, and it made me determined to show those around me that they're loved, even at the risk of being a soppy sap

My dad died when he was only fifty one, but I was grown up, and got back in time from London, so we could all be with him, and tell him how good a person he'd been, and how much we loved him, as he breathed his last breath.


I was lucky.
