Reckon it depends on what one considers to be their formative years. Winston Churchill was PM during my early years, the only one that I still maintain any respect for, but not for his mishandling of the economy after the war. Incidentally, I still have a couple of my old mums ration books.

Before my time, but I can respect he was the great leader the country needed in it's most desparate hour.
Though I am influenced my great grandfather's opinion of him, who never forgave him, and thought he was evil, because he reportedly ordered that the army should use machine guns against the striking miners, in the General Strike of 1926.
