Re: Election - Place yer bets.
I think you have to expect a fall in Labours vote. Let's live in the real world.
Michael Howard for start was a disaster. Tony Blair could charm the birds out of the trees.
Then we have the last 5 years where we have had tough times.
On my family. My mothers side is made up of my grandads side family pure accringtonians, accy pals et al. He is who I admire so much and gave me good advice.
He married my gran from a Salford Tory family and my gran ran La Mode on abbey St. They lived on Tremellan St before moving to Baxenden near my great grandfather. My grandads dad was a livery driver at Accrington Station and got a council flat in Baxenden following slum clearance on grange St. A street where a lot of Pals came from. I had my tea there every tuesday after school on Ashworth street.
On my dads side my gran and grandad were poor from Mill Hill. They split in 47 and my gran lived in Whalley as a housemaid with two young sons and then Clayton le Moors for about 20 years. she had no sisters. I went there on Mondays after school. A lot of distant family that don't know me live in Blakburn still.
My grandad lived at Brownhill in the end though we never met until I turned up one day. He was crippled. It hurt him too much and he asked me not to return so I didn't. My Grans grandfather I vaguely remember in a Blackburn old folks home.
So to me my family is my mothers side who all lived here and my gran who lived down clayton. 4 generations who all lived in Baxenden.
Is that too much info?
