Flashy, you need to see your doctor. It maybe that the cold has caused a secondary chest infection and antibiotics may be required.
In the interim try inhaling steam.......to do this biol some water and put just an inch or so of water into the bottom of a plastic jug......put you moth and nose over the opening of the jug....the spout is an ideal place to put you nose....breathe in and out normally until there is no steam left.
Yes it will make you cough, but the steam will help to liquify the mucus making it easier to bring up.
Do this every couple of hours.
I am sorry to read that you are not well, I hope you feel better soon....but do see your Doc or at least the specialist nurse at the practice.
