Yes it will make you cough, but the steam will help to liquify the mucus making it easier to bring up.
Do this every couple of hours.
I am sorry to read that you are not well, I hope you feel better soon....but do see your Doc or at least the specialist nurse at the practice.


the steam thing made me smile and reminded me of my late mum, she used to have me with my head over the bathroom sink with a towel over my head inhaling the steam as she ran a sink full of steaming hot water
