I think Winnard has the makings of a good player would like to see him in his natural position of centre back alongside Phil allowing a natural left back to be brought in.
Left Back there is a few available who would easily make the transition who are available on free transfers:

Warren Cummings-AFC Bournemouth
Ryan Dickson-Brentford (can also play left midfield)
Billy Jones-Crewe
Thomas Newey-Bury
