At elections a kind of tribal thing comes into play.
I'm guilty of it myself. At the election I voted for Graham Jones but I don't support the policies of the present Labour Party.
If I were true to my principles I should have abstained like at least one member of Accy Web had the honour to do.I respect him for it.
Guess to a certain extent I'm influenced also by the argument that I have a duty to vote because of the past struggles of those who won me the right to vote.

If your referring to me Colin I Didn't abstain I just didn't vote for the Tory candidate on principal, but I did exercise my right to vote
