Growing up without a dad, the War Memorial in Oswaldtwistle was seen as her dad's grave. The only place she felt she could be close to the the father who although he was excited about her birth, never got the chance to see her. I think I've said before that I can still remember your Nan laying a wreath on remembrance Sunday at the War Memorial with tears in her eyes, unfortunately there are people who are prepared to ride rough shod over other peoples feelings, the sad thing being they don't even realise they're doing it
