Unlike the little brats of today, who will go into an exam room with laptop and mobile phone, and then having phoned a friend will proceed to put their name on the top of the paper in order to obtain 95% marks. They will then spend the rest of the exam session listening to whatever junk is on their i-pods. But even then, the nonsense does not finish there because the exam itself will count for only 10% of their overall mark because the rest is made up of 'continuous assessment'. The only continuous assessment in my day was a leather strap, applied liberally on failure to do your homework. This lot today do not know the meaning of that word. No wonder we have produced a generation of dumbed-down idle layabouts.

Well my other half invigilates at these exams in Wigan and she's been on duty for eight weeks, most days, finishing last Friday
