I like the idea of playing 4-2-3-1 even if it's enforced because we don't have enough strikers. We never gave Phil & Kempson enough protection in front of them with two of Proccy/Joyce/Ryan being our central midfield pairing and when we seemed to concede goals they always appeared to come from the middle of the pitch, not the wings. Plus, with five midfielders it will allow us to pass our way around the pitch rather than hoof it up to Mullin/Symes to hold up the ball and feed it off to his strike partner.
