The highest cost is trying to catch the little buggers as they run around the side of the hill. An expensive labour intensive way to get food. In a way a bit like the carry on of some banks that along with some countries helped get us in this mess.
As for subsidies would the tax paying powers we have up here be used to cushion the blow? Me personally wouldnt mind a small hike if it helped protect services like the NHS some thing that is needed by all.
