Don't understand all this antipathy to the French , seems to me if the Brits had supported the French in 39/40 instead of retreating (evacuating/running away) at Dunkirk and stood and fought maybe the war would have been over sooner , but lets not forget the Brits had no Empire/Commonwealth troops to sacrifice/use as canon fodder , like at Dieppe or Gallipoli , lets be honest here, the Empire/Commonwealth death toll was a lot higher per head of population than that of the motherland
