On behalf of all genuine Newcastle United fans I would like to acknowledge the tribute that Stanley fans paid to our former manager Sir Bobby Robson. You were already regarded by us as true football fans for the way you have stayed loyal to a smaller club when you have lots of bigger ‘band wagons’ nearby which you could jump upon, and the displaying of the banners at the game yesterday reinforces that point. Stanley fans have shown a big national audience that having class is not linked to the division you play in.
We wish you all the best for the rest of the season.
