can't quite fit in exactly to 50 years but if we start at say 1964 (as I was born in 1965) through all my lifetime the country has been governed as follows :-
1964 - 1970 Labour
1970 - 1974 Conservative
1974 - 1979 Labour
1979 - 1997 Conservative
1997 - 2010 Labour
2010 - ???? Coalition (Lib Dem & Con)
So by your reckoning the governments of their day are responsible for the state of the Country today ? That being the case then Labour should shoulder more responsibility for the current problems simply by dint of time in power ! Totaled up Labour have had 24 years at it while the Conservatives have had only 22 years, your own accusations bring forth the grim reality of UK's political degradation !
