Well Neil, while you think P Plates are a daft idea, they work very well in Oz and NZ.......and drivers on P plates can be pulled over and have their licence removed if they are caught exceeding the speed limit or committing a moving traffic offence....the new drivers know this and consequently drive carefully.

There is nothing in this country to denote a new driver...unless you count those voluntary plates you can buy from Halfords....and to say that other drivers would just lose patience with those driving on P plates just shows the mentality of some drivers.
And when passing judgement on what is easier, we use our own experiences to determine what we find easy...... we have had the benefit of experience.......which is what new drivers are trying to achieve.
Anything that makes gaining that experience safer gets a thumbs up from me.
