The usual way to be hacked on MSN/hotmail/windows live is for a message or email to appear with a link to your friends pictures in it. It all looks like it came from your friend. You click the link and it asks for your MSN/hotmail/windows live name and password. You put them in the box and nothing happens so you think its a naff page.

What you actually just did was to give your username and password to the hacker who can then get into your email and see whats in there. You might have infor from your bank they can use or whatever else. The first thing they do is change the password to a new one and sometimes the reset information as well.

Never enter your username and password unless your are 100% sure you are on a genuine microsoft page is all I can suggest.
