Advertising on Accyweb
This is a post that was removed by the mods as I was deemed to be off thread so to put into context it was inrspect of a post regarding a newly opened busness which the proprieter was "adverisng" via the website
The issue of advertising on the site is a difficult one for instance my
daughter posted a very complmentary report on Imposta which was very well
received by Accy Webbers and she then posted a negative report on Millies.
Clearly these were her genuine personal views however in the case of Imposta it
resulted in members trying it out and endorsing Sarahs comments similarly I
guess some members will choose not to frequent Millies becaus of the negative
report.
A good reputation can take years to build and one bad report to destroy. With
any report/review it must be rememered that they are the personal views of the
author and are subjective and we have different tastes and expectations and
that things can change for the better or for the worse
Personally in these difficult times I'd be quite happy for businesses to
promote themselves perhaps in their own section. As I no longer work in
Accrington it can sometimes be months before I discover a new shop etc.
I thought the previous thread which has been withdrawn was honest from the
proprieter in that he openly stated he was promoting his new business surely
that shows a degree of enterprise and initative and theres nothing to prevent
other businesses doing the same (apart from our rules)
You do hope that reviews of businesses etc are factual and honest and there is
no hidden agenda and therefore the integrity of the site can be maintained
