Dog Day Afternoon was Al Pacino and John Cazale (great film). Think you're thinking of Groundhog Day.
Though actually, some of Dog Day Afternoon's dialogue is just as apt;
"Everybody is a con man!" or
"We’re hot entertainment, right?"
